House Collage

We made this House Collage as part of our Letter H letter of the week activities, but I wanted to share it here because it'd be a great project for any day of year.

Materials Needed:
A large piece of paper (We recycled a piece, but you could also cut open a paper grocery bag if you didn't have anything else on hand)
Scissors
A Marker
Glue
Other supplies to decorate your house (optional)

Draw the outline of a house on your paper. Label the house and rooms. Decorate or let your child decorate if desired.

Flip through your magazines or ads and cut out pictures of things found in your house. If your child is young, you could do this in advance like I did. (I forgot to take a picture, but you can see some of the items I found above.) You could also let your child find the pictures for you to cut out, or let them do both the spotting and the cutting. This would be easy to adjust to your child's level or do with multiple children of different ages!

Have your child sort and glue the pictures into the appropriate rooms on their house.

That's it, an easy, low-cost, virtually mess-free craft for a boring afternoon! To finish it off you could also discuss with your child and add details like your address, street name, city, state, etc. To extend the activity you could have your child draw family & pets or let them glue on photos.
