Hello Again!
As you may have noticed we've been away from the blog world lately. We've been traveling and spending lots of quality time together and with our extended family. You wanna know how to make an 11 hour drive worth it? Have a couple houses full of grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins waiting at the other end! We had a wonderful time and I'm so grateful that my kids had the opportunity to spend some time with their relatives!
I'm still working on catching up on all the great posts I've missed on my favorite blogs, but in the meantime I thought I'd share a few pictures of our adventure. (Some of these were taken on my phone so please excuse the quality.)
This photo just makes me smile. We headed out at 4am by just throwing the boys in the truck in their pjs. Dude insisted that he needed his hat :)
We got the chance to check out some construction equipment up close and personal. Dude was fascinated and talked about backhoes for the rest of the week.
Oh, the fun that can be had with a laundry basket! Spudder especially loved sliding around the living room in this one.
And of course even away from home there was still lots of reading going on.
Dude showed off his alphabet skills with a set of ABC magnets he found. He was able to identify all of them even when they were upside down or sideways. Grandpa helped him to put them in order.
He got some 10-1 countdown practice before racing his trucks across the coffee table. This was a night where we were just trying to entertain him and this activity turned out to be perfect for lengthening the amount of time that he was interested in playing like this.
Dude also had a blast turning flips with Grandpa's help. Grandpa decided to throw in a little education by counting down with each flip. He started at....100! Somewhere around 80 Grandpa realized he might should have started lower :) We love you Grandpa!
Unfortunately our trip had to come to an end sometime, but we were really glad to have been able to spend some time together! As a military family those opportunities seem to be rare sometimes. Now that we're back home and unpacked we should be back with our regular Tot Tray and Letter of the Week posts soon. Hope you're enjoying some sunny spring weather!
